Why isn't France feeling the recession?

Although gas is a bit higher than in the US (compared to 10 years ago when it was about 4 to 5 times higher, today, it's about 1.3 times higher than in the US), employment is at its lowest in 25 years, buying a house has gotten easier etc...

Why is that, in contrast to today's US economy?

And please, no ranting about France

  1. do you think so?

i think also france feels the recession.

i'm italian and i assure you that evrywhere in europe (italy, france, England, Spain etc) the people feel that the economy is in recessione. the main problem here in europe is inflation. 1 liter of petrol costs in italy 1,5 euro.

And about france don't forget the problems of "banlieu" two years ago. i think they are hoping in Sarkozy but neither he can solve the problems of the people becuase they have to be solved at international level

  2. Great question...I wish I knew the answer but im only 15 and know hardly anything about the economy yet :l
