Why isn't GTA coming to Wii?

Hardware isnt caoabke of rendering the gane at an acceptable framerate. An alternate version would have to be released and frankly it would suck.

Maybe Rockstar just doesnt want to make a Wii version....yet.

They're Making a Nintendo DS Version (GTA: Chinatown Wars or something like that) And they're waiting to see they're games work with Nintendo before they make one for Wii.

I'm not sure why, I still think GTA for Wii would be amazing!

Although if I had a choice between GTA for Wii or a Bully Sequel (Not just some stupid remake, although it is fun for Wii) I would definately choose the Bully sequel! But thats another story :)

Nintendo said that they would love if Rockstar would put GTA on the Wii, it is totally up to Rockstar to bring it to the Wii.

It's way too big a game to put on the wee wii. And it's probably not worth it to make a version that would fit.

The wii is technologically inferior to every other console on the market. All game systems aren't just "now it has a 3 instead of a 2", they put in huge processors and storage and c**p that can play games that are just impossible to play on any other system period. The wii added motion controls and.......nothing else other that PS2 era hardware.

cuz wii is g*y about M rated games... cuz it's a system for "everyone" how stupid... well yeah nintendo has been dissapointing the core gamers so they better start working on some mature games since their main fans are pretty old (if they started out with the NES )

hopefully the counduit and call of duty world at war are good if not i might have to switch to a 360 and get some games that i can actually enjoy

Rockstar's fault. well, both really. Nintendo didn't make the Wii with a big enough hard-drive or something, so if rockstar DID want to make it for the Wii, they'd have to edit it a lot to make it playable. Nintendo already said that they would let GTA come to the Wii if they made it. I don't get why people say "because Nintendo sucks!". It's going to be on the DS isn't it. yes, my point. rockstar just doesn't want to make it.

it won't sell because half the people with a wii have either an xbox360 or ps3 as well. So it's not worth it for the gta company.

Nintendo said they would like to have a GTA game for Wii (they are getting one for DS already), as long as it's not a "toned down port" of a PS or Xbox version. They want it to be designed for Wii to take advantage of the hardware and not just be a PS2 game on the Wii.

RockStar won't do it though, because it's unlikely it would sell very well. Anyone interested in a GTA game that owns a Wii will more than likely also own a 360 or PS3, which are both much more capable consoles graphically. Anyone with a Wii that doesn't also own a 360 or PS3 is probably also not interested in a GTA game.

To clear up some of the stupidity in the previous replies:

1. The Wii has the same size disk as the 360, both use 4.7/8.5 GB DVD disks.

2. The Wii also has several titles not targeted toward "families" and "kids," and there are quite a few titles targeted at core gamers in the works right now for the console as well.

3. Mircrosoft does not own any rights to GTA - Rockstar makes GTA. They did pay for exclusive downloadable content, but they don't own the franchise or anything.
