Why isn't John Humphrey named as one of the Greatest Canadians?

'm doing an assignment on one of the Greatest Canadians and I chose him. If you don't already know he helped write the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. He worked in the UN for twenty years and helped launch Amnesty International Canada and a few other organizations. He has his own foundation, named after him. Unfortunately he was not listed in the Top 100 Greatest Canadians, yet people like Pamela Anderson and Avril Lavigne were. I really don't get it. What I want to know from you is if you know who John Humphrey is and maybe why he isn't given as much credit, from not only Canada but from the world, as he deserves. Thank you for your time.

  1. There have been a number of very positive newspaper articles on him, but nobody else seems to care.

  2. why was Don Cherry even considered? IMO he's a loud mouthed know it all embarassment to most Canadians, sadly it seems Cdns are starting to think like our southern neighbours, that so-called famous (infamous?) people and celebs are worth recognition more so than great humanitaritarians (sp?)

  3. I'm embarrassed to say I never heard of him, but I guess that's the fault of our education system and moronic pop culture. So Pamela Anderson and Avril Lavigne are more important? It goes to show how much we are dumbing down. Geez. Thanks for fighting the war against stupidity, but it will be an uphill battle.
