Why isn't Portugal's soccer team going to the Olympics?

they are definetley one of the best football teams in the world and i just dont understand why they're not in the Olympics. Ronaldo being on the team should get them an embroidered invitation right there!!!

just because there talented doesnt guarente dem a spot in the olympics dey had dere shot in the qualifiers and dey messed up

the olympics are the second most prestigious tournement in international play after the world cup and do u see any team other den the host and da champs get an automatic bid 2 the world cup of course not

other notable teams not in the olympics in include germany....mexico which had der team dat one the 2005 u-17 world cup

You need to earn the rights to play in football Olympics you know

In some sports like athletics and swimming wild cards might be given but not in football

Even if you have all Kaka, Ronaldo, Messi in one team

they didnt qualify but to be honest the olympics is not much of a big deal for european soccer players.

They didn't qualify.....and the Olympics don't give out embroidered special invitations.  You have to earn your way there, or not go.
