  1. The first answer is correct. He was hurt too much, cant be in every play b/c of his age and was way to overpaid for the production he was giving Seatle. So they cut him to save money b/c the NFL dosnt have guarenteed contracts like other sports.

  2. They will not pay him the salary he ask for in the first place.

  3. The Seahawks released Alexander after 2 injury plagued season in 2006 and 2007. They then added Julius Jones from the Cowboys and TJ Duckett.

  4. Because everyone realized he's a back with sub-par speed and cutback ability once he was no longer running behind All-Pro's like Steve Hutchinson and Walter Jones.

Although he's an amazing Wheel of Fortune player.  And quite charming.

  5. They cut him because they lost faith in him and didn't want to pay big money to him.

  6. Because he was released from his contract due to sub-par years after his MVP season

  7. 3 years ago, Shaun Alexander was THE man. But now, after two very unsuccessful and injury-plagued season, the Seahawks see that Alexander will continue this trend as he gets older and felt that he wasn't worth keeping around if he was gonna keep letting his team down. Also, with the acquisition of Julius Jones (who proved that he can be a franchise running back), there was no need to keep an old, injury-prone running back around anymore.

  8. They lost faith in him, they don't think he can be the every down back he used to be.  He gets injured too much so they pulled the strings and brought in two other backs to replace him.
