Why isn't Spain at the G8+5 outreach meeting ?

it has a growing economy nominal gdp about the same as Canada's.

total foreign trade is bigger than Mexico or Russia (but a lot smaller than Canada's).

  1. you mean the outreach 5?

    obviously, because Spain doesn't represent a considerable portion of the world economy (and trade capacity has nothing to do with membership in the G8). The outreach 5 are 5 developing or newly developed markets that have the potential to or currently represent a portion of the world economy that the G8 recognizes. Spain not only isn't a major economic player, it is not a very large country anyways, and ultimately, the decision for membership falls to the original G8.
