Question:

Why isn't any australian embassy or conslate in Congo?

As the question stated; why we have to go on to the Canadian Conslate for Australian issues on the passports and other issues? is there problems with polical problems between the nations?

i was thinking to go there one day but now, i am not sure about that?

Can you give me just a breif history and why is that?

  1. Not every country can afford to have consulates in every other country. You'll find it's common for countries to 'double up' and use each other's consulates in different countries. This should not be seen as an insult and it's not necessarily because they disagree with that countries politics.

    Congo is different - it has been known as a dangerous place for it's own citizens as well as for Western people for some time due to civil unrest. The police cannot guarantee your safety and there is a very high level of crime. The airport in Kinshasa has been closed due to heavy fighting between the military and rebel forces. You are not recommended to travel there for your own safety.
