I had just visited U.P and looking at our hold river Yamuna horrified me.My intoxicaton to see Yamuna lead to feeling of censure towards it's stinky water.

Is this Yamuna around which Lord Krishna spent his marvellous and exotic childhood?

  1. BECAUSE we,the people of India namely the Public is the one harming it. When gov. starts cleaning it then the public throws more waste in it then ever saying that the gov. is cleaning the river and by putting in one more waste object wont stop them.

Also, the gov. consists of humans only. They need our co-operation for cleaning it.

  2. Govt. is doing a lot. Janta is doing (bad) more than Govt. All have to do for betterment. Only Govt. can not do all.

  3. They cant do anything. Its so polluted that the even pollution control experts from europe gave up.

  4. Bro, wake up!  We are the largest democracy of the world.  We are the govt., we are the rulers and the ruled.

Start a campaign like Narmada Bachao Andolan to save Yamuna.  Not just Yamuna, all our rivers are polluted heavily and Ganga is drying out.

Build underground sewages, punish people using river for dirty things, punish the factories that decolorise their industrial waste and plainly dump it into the rivers, lot such things remain to be done.  They cost money.  Money comes only if the factories and other things work as they are working now.

Here in Salem where I live, our river Thirumanimutharu is practically a sewerage.  After requesting for long years to build underground sewage systems, the city authorities have started working.  This will only reduce the pollution.  But a start no less.  There are mills and factories here which have no 'cheaper' way to dump their wastes.  These are legitimate problems.

Look around, Yamuna should be having her own patrons trying to save her from pollution' menace.

  5. Not only Yamuna.  Cauvery and other important rivers in India face negligence.  The Govt. thinks only in terms of vote bank and support from millionnaires.  The Yamuna is contaminated by the filthy materials and chemicals poured from the big factories situated by the side of the river.  The Taj Mahal which is one of the greatest wonders of the world and which is situated by the side of river Yamuna is being tarnished and blackened by the smoke emited from the factories. May God give sense to the political leaders.

  6. the govt is trying their best , but it is the citizen who are throwing the pollutants in the river faster than the authorities can clear it. dont blame the government only, but the mail culprits are Industries and people who throw a lot of stuff in the rivers
