  1. Avoiding a double negative is simple, engage brain before starting mouth. Society has become one of acceptance, English is the most difficult language to master. Rather than correct the speaker, we fill in the blanks. With texting becoming ever more popular, there are more and more short cuts injected into the written word everyday. For example: U R 1 B 4 I wuz. Sad ist it?


  2. its just common since really.  Like who says,"I can't not do this" in a serious manner?

    Actually, double negatives seem to be common in a lot of languages.  They're common in colloquial English, and many people have difficulty "code switching" from colloquial to standard English, or they may just prefer the way it sounds.
