  1. Not every child is the same my son is 15 months all he can say is mama, dada, apple,up,and baba and hot. Just keep saying words with him he''ll pick it up

  2. How did the doctor know that he was tongue tied?....... Anyway does he have older brothers or sisters? My son didn't talk for a while too but his sisters were always out talking him so I guess he didn't have a need to say much. But you could take him to a speech doctor if you are still concerned. Alot of times children don't talk because they have nothing to say give him time.

  3. he will talk when he's ready. My son is 21 months old and still not talking very well. He says mama, dada, baby, pee pee, and tries to say "I want that"...but thats about it!!  Most boys tend to be a little slower...but they will all advance at the age that is right for them!!!

I do agree on if he has older siblings, maybe they are talking too much "for" him! I think thats what our situation is...my 5 year old daughter always does the talking for him.

  4. ooh I'm sorry I'd stress you concerns to his doctor and get a referral for a speech therapist. My son was the same age and hardly said anything, just made alot of noises, He was diagnosed with autism 6 months later. He's now 7 and is talking up a storm, early intervention is the best medicine. I have a nephew who has the same diagnosis as my son, and they (the parents) are in complete denial. They have alot of problems with him as far as his temper, and low muscle tone. All because his parents are idiots. I'm not saying that what your child has, but it is a possibility, does he do anything different. My son would line up his Cheerios before he would eat them, he'd organize m&ms by color and line them up. He never really "played" with toys. If you anymore questions about it call his doctor and make him aware of your concerns, and if they say "let's wait and see" DON'T take that as an answer, go and see someone else

  5. kids move at their own rate. My son is almost 14 months (in a few days) and still won't stand on his own. He is not close to walking. He is moving forward with these milestones... but at his own rate

  6. their is nothing wrong with your son don't listen to people who say that he should be speaking by now all children develop at there own pace rushing him would delay his speech. just make sure you speak to him alot even if it is just telling him what you are doing. play games that will encourage speech and use books where you point to the pictures and tell him what things are eventually he will copy you. there is nothing wrong with your son don't compare him with other children because everyone is different

  7. maybe he has autism, maybe he just doesnt wanna talk, or you havent been working with him on talking. i would visit your childs pediatrician if i were you, this could be a serious mental illness. good luck and i hope i helped
