  1. I sat with my grandson a lot and encouraged him to balance.  I think it helped but that's probably just the Grampy in me talking.  He was always a little late with the gross motor skills but way early with fine motor skills.  This was my first grandchild and we worried about everything.  I think that's good but most of it is really unnecessary.

As another Grampy said, they all go at their own speed, areas they are slow in they will speed up and catch up later.

My Grandson is 4 now and has a little motorcycle that he rides around on and he is doing great in preschool.

  2. my baby girl is 7 months old and she does this. Like u have been very worried about it. As soon as i sit her down she will reach forward or wobble to the side or push on her legs wanting to go into a standing positition. I also worry about it but try to see reason because of all the other things she can do. Im going to mention it at her next check up for piece of mind.

  3. It's nothing to worry about. My twin Grandsons didn't sit unattended until they were a year old, they didn't walk until they were 16 months old, and didn't utter a word until they were over 2 years old. They are 6 years old now, and developing as normal 6 year olds.

All babies develope at different rates, and you will find your baby will do all these things in his own time. Just relax, and don't worry!!!!

  4. Don't worry, he will sit in no time.  If he can stand up his bones are strong so he should have no problem sitting when he is ready.   I would say if he is not sitting by 12 months then just ask your doctor.

  5. I wouldn't worry about it, the ages that are given for babies doing things are the average age so there will always be babies who do things a bit earlier or a bit later than the average. I would just give him lots of opportunity to practise by making a little nest of cushions on the floor so if he does fall he won't hurt his head.

  6. round bottom hun lots of babies have a round bottom  its a balance thing

  7. my 11 month old cant hold a beaker or say dada but he can sit unassisted.  They all do things at different stages....But if you are really concerned at your next check up just mention it to the doctor

  8. That may be something you will want to bring up at his next wellness check that seems strange.

  9. He could just be being lazy, my daughter is 6 months and can sit up unassisted but would rather roll and crawl around so she intentionally pushes herself back or forward so she can get on her stomach and roll around.. maybe your son is doing that?

  10. i heard that by 8 months they already should but then they also say all babies are different but you know what it can even happen this month my 7 month old looked nowhere close to sitting on his own and few days later there he was sitting up all by himself so be patient if it really really concerns you ask his doctor.

  11. Babies don't develop by the textbook so most likely it's just his individual pace. Some don't even crawl, but go straight to walking. My little girl took awhile to sit up but once I let her figure it out on her own (rather than rushing to help her) she developed faster. I say no rush cause they'll be doing it all soon enough and forever after that! (It's hard for me to put my baby down and let her learn on her own...she's so cuddly :) )

  12. I doubt it has anything to do with any type of developmental problems since he can stand and talk.  Some babies just develope slower then others in different areas.  Just ask your doctor at your next check up, but Im sure everything is okay.
