Question:

Why isn't my Mario Kart Wii game working? ?

My Mario Kart Wii game recently stopped working for some reason. When I insert the disc into the console and go to the disc channel, the mario kart screen comes up. However, when I press start, after the usual Wii mote and Nun-chuck instructions come up, a black screen appears saying that the disc could not be read. I took the disc out and put it back in several times, but the same screen always comes up. The disc has no scratches and I have cleaned it many times. I don't understand why it's not working.

I will greatly appreciate anyone's suggestions on how to fix this problem. Thanks.

  1. make sure you put it in the right way & then reset/unplug your wii & then try it, if it still doesn't work: put in other discs to see if they work or not, & then:

    1. if its only mariokart, contact nintendo or see if you can return the game

    2. if its all the games, its what happened to my friend, a problem with older wiis, you need to send it back, they will fix it for FREE & you'll get it back in like 2 weeks & it will be as good as new

    hope i helped

  2. You're going to need to contact them, and send your game in to be fixed.  You can contact them at the following website:

    http://www.nintendo.com/

I don't know how much it costs, if any, but sometimes they charge if it's not under warranty.

Just a little note: when they fix your game, they may send you something to compensate, my friend's Xbox software broke down, and they sent him 1 year of free Xbox Live!

    Good luck!
