Question:

Why isn't my apple tree bearing fruit?

I have had a Cortland apple tree for 4 years. never has had many apples. I haven't seen any this year. What could be the problem. My other apple tree a different kind, has many apples. it can't be the location, they both have the same condidions, sunny, same soil, watering

  1. Generally speaking, apple trees start to bear fruit anywhere from the second to 5ih year. To help it, you can put some fruit tree fertilizer spikes down in the fall, so they get a healthy start in the spring. You can find these spikes at most home centers.

  2. maybe you should have atleast 2 trees of the same kind for the bees to pollinate the flowers then you'll get more fruit.
