Question:

Why isn't my cat cuddling with me anymore?

I always go to bed before my cat does, and an hour later she would always crawl under the covers, lay on my stomach and start purring-- she would stay there until I had moved her in the morning when I had to get ready for school and I always felt bad for it because she never wanted to get off. Anyway, now that summer has rolled around she's completely stopped. Now she chooses to sleep on my window-seal. I'm thinking it's because she has long fur and it gets too hot for her, but I'm not sure. Or has she stopped loving me? :(

  1. think about it would u like to sleep in fur coat curled up next to another person on a hot summer night? just make sure u give her as much love as u can and when it starts getting cooler bet she comes back to crawling under the covers

  2. I use to bring my cat to bed everynight and she would sleep with me, but now I do it and she just jumps off the bed right away, she has her moments, my cat likes to sleep in a corner or under the bed, then when she hears the alarm go off she pops up and cries for food.

  3. My dog has been doing the same thing.  I am sure it is because the weather is hot. (even tho we keep the room temp at 77 at night)  She feels cooler by the window sill.  My dog has been sleeping on the tile floor rather than in bed with me, her own bed or on the carpet.  It is just cooler, not to worry, she still loves you!

  4. She's probably hot with all that hair, she is soooo adorable!

  5. She's beautiful, no wonder you want to cuddle! You're right, it could be because it's summer. My cats often pretty much ignore me all summer but on the first cool night, there they are back on the bed. Cats are also, often, sort of on-again off-again in how cuddly they are. One of mine has been really friendly for a few weeks now but I have no idea why.

  6. A cat will never stop loving you unless it's mistreated. But your cat seems to love you alot. Your cat is what I consider a medium fur length cat. Not to mention it's also Black in coloration. Black attracts heat and that also includes our body heat. Your body to the cat is extremely warm. During the summer it's too warm. In order to not get overheated the cat goes and sleeps in the window to try and cool herself off. So it's because of her fur and the color of her fur that she chooses to sleep on the window sill. It's not because she has stopped loving you. My kitten is short haired and she sleeps on my head or my body as well, or sometimes even underneath my blankets. However I also have an air conditioner in my bedroom. But when she does get too warm she goes and finds my other kitten to lay near. Don't worry too much about it. Just figuere she's warm and she's just trying to cool off. But she still loves you.
