Question:

Why isn't my male canary fertilizing the eggs?

I have had a pair of canaries for about two years now. The male is red while the female is yellow. The female has been laying eggs lately but none of them have hatched. I had one egg hatch last year but the baby bird later died... Is there a way to get my male bird to start fertilizing the eggs?

  1. Did he mate with the female?  If not, the eggs won't be fertile.
