Why isn't my photo booth working??

I have a mac book and my photo booth or my image capture aren't working. When I open image capture it says no image device is selected or something. When I open photo booth it's just a file with all the pictures listed and I can't take a picture. HELP!!!

try closing all your programs first.

if you have imovie open, it won't work at the same time.

two applications using the camera device will not function simultaneously.
