Why isn't my picture in picture going away on my tv?

I have a Samsung TV and recently got a DVR from Time Warner. When I change channels, look at my recorded list, or look at the guide and exit....the picture stays at the top right corner and the rest of the screen stays black. The only way for it to go away is if I press the picture in picture button twice. Does anyone know why it's doing this? It is so annoying.

Well the first thing that i would guess is that the pip setting is on and the dvr is recording it into your program especially if your viewing delayed. that is odd are you using the tv remote and cable or just cable. i would try to just use the cable remote.
