Question:

Why isn't one end of my ethernet cable working?

I have had an ethernet cable (JP50 or something I think) for a few months now and it has started to not work... I know that one end of it works because when i plug it into the modem it says it's plugged in. But when i plug the other end in, nothing happens.

I use the cable for my Xbox 360 and has been working fine for while now but just suddenly stopped working. I had a look at both of the ends and they both look identical from what i can see.

If anyone has any answers, i'd be very happy :D

If not, I may have to buy a new one :(

  1. If you have been connecting and disconnecting, you may have broken a wire. Try a new one. They are pretty cheap

  2. If its worn or frayed you may need to purchase a new one. Check the other areas where the cable is hooked up. Those areas may be having a problem. Do a visual inspection of everything.
