Question:

Why isn't the US as outraged over the atrocities in Darfur as they were about Saddam killing Kurds in Iraq?

Far more people are being killed and are suffering unspeakable violence from the Sudanese government than Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Why aren't we doing anything about it? Is it only when there is something to gain for the US, ie; oil or natural resources that we take military action or do we act (militarily) to stave off evil in the world?

  1. Something to gain for the US otherwise how can we twist it into saying it's in the US's best interest.

  2. No access to oil.

  3. Because the Chinese have already locked up all the oil rights in Sudan.

  4. Don't fool yourself into thinking we went into Iraq to help people.  We went there because of oil and profits for contracting companies that have close ties to Bush and Cheney.

  5. and

    Burma

    Zimbabwe

    Et cetera

    Et cetera

  6. It is a matter for the United Nations.  The last time we got between warlords during a civil war was Mogadishu, Somalia and that disaster should never happen to our troops again.

Our troops are not meant to settle civil wars or disputes between warlords in other nations THAT is the United Nations specialty.

  7. tempting but the US is tied up in iraq...plus Sudan is a stretch to get to israel.

  8. Because, with Saddam's ignoring the terms of the cease fire and the U.N. resolutions, there was a legal way to get involved in Iraq.

  9. All lies, nobody was killed. Life is good in Darfur and the lies must be refuted once and for all. Peace and love.

  10. The democrats would just ***** about that too.  Have you forgotten what a bunch of peace loving mother ******* you guys are?  Make sure you read the memo before you post again.

    It's the terrorists ******.
