Why isn't the probability of a baby being born in the United States, when there are 50 states, I / 50?

  1. because over 3 milion babies  are being  born everyday

    and

    180000

    people die averyday


  2. Because population is not evenly distributed on all 50 states (some states have much higher population than others, higher population, higher probability to have a baby born).  You must normalize (estimate each state weight or contribution of total) to get each state probability.

  4. Because I live in California and there is no possibility of my baby being born in New Mexico, for example.
