  1. It's all down to royal ethics.

  2. you bet.that makes me think also.probably because he is not a royal blood,or what..keep thinking about it.lol

  3. a king is higher than a queen.  Elizabeth is the monarch and Philip is a nobody so they made him a Duke.  If the king is the monarch then his with will be queen because a queen is lower than a king.  Unless you are Charlie & Camilla, then its your what we are supposed to call her

  4. Who cares?

  5. a king has a queen, and a queen has a consort titled either duke or prince, a king is in fact higher than a queen, so if a woman is in line to the throne she can not have a king who in effect would be higher than her and not of the bloodline

  6. he was in line to the Greek throne before it got abdicated, he is also her cousin 5 times removed because they are descendants of queen Victoria and he can't become king because she was in line to the throne and a king have more power than a queen

  7. The spouse of a reigning Monarch of the United Kingdom does not automatically receive a title by virtue of their marital status.

This is true whether the monarch is a King or a Queen.

The spouse of a King or Queen is merely a "royal consort" and as such has no constitutional status or power.

The wives of English king's are often referred to as "Queen Consort" but they are NOT monarchs and the title is essentially an honorific without meaning. Likewise, in at least one instance, the husband of a female monarch, to wit the husband of Queen Mary I,  was referred to as "King consort."

The present monarchs husband is a Prince in his own right (Phillip is a prince of both Denmark and Greece) but as husband of the Queen he holds no title by right but was created Duke of Edinburgh  and, more recently (1957) was declared to be "Prince of the United Kingdom."

The title of "Prince" in the UK has no real meaning (except in the case of the Prince of Wales) and is merely an honorific held at the will of the sovereign, who can both grant and revoke the title.

  8. He is Prince Philip of Greece, he cannot be a Royal of two households and therefore cannot be a King of England .. even though the Greeks have 'dismissed' their Royal family

  9. I've always wondered that.

It's probably because he's not of royal blood.

  10. why isnt the first lady's husband president

    oh wait, he is

    uhhhhh

ask someone who is from britishland

  11. he is not a royal

  12. Queen Elizabeth II was heir to her father King George VI. Philip was only the son-in-law. Philip is of royal birth(of The Royal Houses of Denmark,Germany and Greece) and is a third cousin to his wife, but he was not an heir. When Elizabeth became Queen,no one else could bear a title higher than the Queen Regent's;the title of king presumes the monarch, but the monarch is the Queen,so Philip is Prince Consort. All spouses of a monarch in the UK are consorts. They have no powers to reign unless they receive special orders from the reigning monarch and the government to do so. This usually occurs when a serious illness prevents the monarch from working(King George VI's lung-removal  had The Queen Mother, Elizabeth and others helping out),or a state-visit to other countries requiring the monarch to be out of her realm for long periods of time(Charles,Anne, and the other siblings as well as Philip have been called on from time to time to help the Queen when she was absent).

The Queen would need an act of Parliament to make Philip a king;she has no wishes or intentions to do so.

  13. If Prince Phillip was given the title King, we'd now have a Greek king yet Greece wouldn't. Just a passing observation.

  14. Elizabeth II is Queen of the United Kingdom, her husband is titled and styled as HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Elizabeth II inherited the throne through her father, King George VI of the United Kingdom and was named Heiress Presumptive.

Although, the Queen could name her husband "King Consort" it is yet still only a "courtsey title." King consort is a title given in some monarchies to the husband of a queen regnant. Nowadays, it is a symbolic title only, the sole constitutional function of the holder being similar to a queen consort, namely to produce an heir to the throne. Spain, Portugal, England and Scotland have all had kings consort, however, since the rank of king normally outranks that of queen, in most monarchies the queen's husband is given the title of prince or prince consort instead.

  15. Because a king is higher than a queen therefore the king would be classed as the ruler.

So a queen has a prince and a king has a queen.

  16. A queen can move any direction as many spaces as she would like and a king can only move one space at a time.

Ah, well, George Bush is my queen ;-)

  17. He is not heir to the throne, we have a hereditary heir system. In other words its all in the blood.
