  1. Because the people who would have the ability to make a cure, could make alot more money if they started their own listerine business. If they made a cure, what would it be? Pills most likely. And how long would it take for these pills to cure someone completely if they did work? Id say a few months to maybe 8 months. Then, that person who is cured, would never buy those pills again, they would be cured and not need it. Now if the people who make the cure know so much about what causes it, they would know how to make something that ALMOST cures it, but doesnt completely cure it...or something that PREVENTS it from happening before you get it that way you would always need to take it in order to prevent gum disease from happening. So they would make alot more money from selling you listerine or special toothpaste that prevents it or suppresses it then selling you something that completely cures it. Selling you something that prevents it from happening means you would have to take it the rest of your life because if you stopped taking it then the risk of getting gum disease would be greater...so they can make money off you forever.

In Summary: Its not very profitable to cure people of life long diseases because that means you will have no chance to profit off them in any way once they are cured.

  2. periodontal disease is due to negligence. Not properly flossing & brushing your teeth. No medicin is going to cure periodontal disease because the cause is due to plaque & calculus in the gum. If the cause is removed, the disease goes. Anaerobs are in plentiful in the periodontal pockets. Medicin like Metranedazol or Tinidazole can help.

  3. gum disease treatments can come in different methods and procedures depending on the severity of your gum disease.  gingivitis is the reversible and the early stage of gum disease which can be prevented by having a good program of oral hygiene like proper brushing and flossing every after meal, keeping the mouth hydrated to avoid dry mouth, keep bad bacteria in the oral cavity under control. healthy habits and proper diet is essential to boost the immune system to fight off disease from attacking the body. having a dental check up is very much helpful to check gum state.

for advanced gum disease or periodontitis, your dentist will try to perform certain treatments like scaling and surgery. have a talk with your dental expert as soon as possible to solve you gum problems.
