Everyone knows about the earthquake in china, but yet they haven't done much coverage in the news about it in the states. It makes me sad , it's almost as if our country doesn't care. When 911 happened that was on tv for DAYs you couldn't watch anything else if you wanted to.....but for china, almost nothing :( more people died in this disater than i can even think of, over 10,000 people i think it's in the 30 thousands now, all of this and i feel so helpless. We all know though if this happened here, it's all people would be talking about for weeks!

I looked at of these pictures on the net and it just made me cry. It's so horrible.

  1. Believe me on this one:

As far as this country and its people concerns, earthquake in China does not mean anything to them because it happened in a Communist country. By American common standard and their conscious, it does not matter too much to them at all. If our media makes too much  objective reports, it will make our government and people looks bad comparing to our own disaster (i.e. Katrina in Lousina 4 years ago) when one learned that Chinese premier arrived at the disaster area in 12 hours as it happened, its covernment sents their marines parachuting to the disaster to rescure their people, their army ran to the disaster area on foot due to damaged road system, .... not mentioning there has been no looting, no robbing, no raping,  totally different from what we had during Katrina disaster. I hope this helps you to understand the reason why western media does not report our enemy's disaster.

On the other hand, our media made every effort, even tried hard to fabricate stories on the Chinese Tibetan riot issue to attack its enemy.

Here is a link you can find up to date news and pictures regarding that earthquake disaster:

  2. Because most TV news operations in the States only have a news bureau in Beijing or Shanghai, hundreds of miles from the epicenter of the quake. And those who are posted to those bureaus don't know enough Mandarin to find the bathroom, let alone get to the site of the disaster.

The NY Times had a bureau chief in Tokyo for over 20 years who never learned to speak even one word of Japanese.

If you want current coverage, try the link below.

  3. It may be the fact that China's quick response to the disaster may make our response to Katrina look too bad by comparison so you wont see much of it in the news.

The troops were helping immediately, while we waited 5 days to do any thing in N.O.- And don't say we couldn't get in because of the water- every major news service in the world was covering it in their vans- high and dry.

  4. There loads were i live you dont see anything else exept for that but what about the burma cyclone you dont here much about that no more

  5. Because no one can get to the damage site even the military had to either march or parachute in

And no roads are open to traffic and to have a bunch of news people all over the place with still after shocks of earthquakes happening

    .. . ...

Is kind of pushing the free press a little extreme this time

    .. . ... ..

And with all the caios going on they only want necessary people there till things get settled down

    .. .. . .

What I read on the firs day the dispached 130,000 military troops

    .. . ...

On day 2 started to find places to set up tent cities but for 5 million people homeless is a lot of tents that won't be shipped out this month

    .. .. ..

And I know they are not hard up on money or merchandise to supply to the people in need

    .. .. ..

Seeing they make 80% of everything sold in the world and have a budget surplus of 4 trillion dollars at last count

    .. .. ..

And a military 1/2 the population of the United States

1 in every 4 people on earth live in China

    .. .. ...
