Why isn't this hoax being outed more?

Is it because it is for the envorinment therefore all is allowed?

That we can make up facts to make our point?

Can you see why people become skeptics when the tree huggers cry DOOM!

When the examples they show us are lies.

Or is this acceptable form and that the ends justify the means?

You can't believe everyting you read in the newspaper or see on TV. Do you really care if all the trees are cut down or the earth is warming. No; because you are going to keep doing what you have been doing. Enjoying the fruits of this modern technological society.

This is on Yahoo! today, so it is being outed . . . but slowly.  As Yahoo! states, people are probably embarrassed about falling for the trick, and therefore reluctant to admit it.  

As far as why it is allowed, hoaxes have been around for a long time, and they are not just about the environment.  snopes.com has lots of categories for different hoaxes.  Just because this one got by for awhile doesn't make it any worse than any of the thousands of other hoaxes out there.

As far as the environment goes, maybe the tribe wasn't really a "lost" tribe, but it really IS a native tribe that is being threatened by the destruction of the forest around it.  So the main point of the photo and the article is still true.  Just because it wasn't newly discovered doesn't mean its plight is any less important.

In general terms, the reason the media doesn't out a hoax they helped perpetuate is because they are avoiding responsibility for lack of professional integrity.

It is a symptom of a greater societal lack of responsibility for our actions that seems to be growing.

The outlets who forwarded this story as a promotional bonanza should all come out with banner headlines to admit their culpability in this instance and apologize.

The will not do so because they are too busy blaming someone else for the problem.

The ends never justify the means and whatever temporary gains they have made will be lost for me because I trust them just that much less to tell the truth.

Environmentalism is a religion.

It requires faith , denial of opposing views and the demonetization of detractors.

Many have died in the north west as a result of tree spiking , where saws get "caught up" in the spikes ,throws chains and shrapnel flying.

The founder of Greenpeace abandoned the org. he founded because of the tactics they used in order to perpetuate their agenda.
