  1. Same problem as electric cars:  The range is too short.  I will grant you that these would be easier to refill quickly at an air station or even at home.  Also I get the feeling that these would struggle to power any sizable vehicle or one hauling a lot of weight.

In other words, it's neat technology and has uses but it isn't enough to completely replace gasoline engines.  Not unless they can get even more compression safety into the tanks.

  2. The car is a waste.  There is no reason to spend money pursuing it.  It isn't green (the propulsion energy has to come from somewhere), it isn't cheap, and it isn't ready to drive on my next thousand mile trip.

  3. Its difficult to get society has a whole to change, people in the US are not ready to give up their gas guzzlers for something that's more efficient. Not to mention the big oil companies will go bankrupt, so what do we with the hundreds of thousands of people that are out of work from big oil. Personally, I would trade in my car now for an air powered vehicle, but, that's just me.

  4. Air powered cars have been around for about 100 years, but they're not efficient enough for most uses. You still have to get the energy to compress the air from somewhere, and that's usually fossil fuels.

  5. The car is inefficient and unreliable.

The car does not live up to the hype surrounding it.
