  1. Because its boring.

  2. from my previous research, singapore rrecycles a large portion of its waste. I forgot the figure but it did amaze me. some problems about recycling

-singaporeans dont care (much of the recyclable waste comes from industrial and commercal sectors. Households? Nah)

-some waste is not worth recycling because they are less costly to be made from raw materials, i do mean RAW.

  3. It isn't conveint for Americans to take their garbage to a designated loacation in town. When I was stationed in Northern Italy, it was mandatory to recycle, otherwise you could get fined. It was nice to walk 50 feet to a recycling bin which were on every street. Some towns even picked up people's recycling on the curb.

  4. it takes time.

  5. We start with a lot of rules that do not make sense to consumers, too amy exceptions, too many rejections.

What we needed to do, at teh start, is to make sure all the things we are buying, and all their packaging, are planned for recycling in  our local marketplace.

With that in place, we do not need a lot of indeciferable rules.

If we allow products or packages that are not recyclable to get onto the market, the responsibility for those materials should not fall on the consumer to separate them. Take the problem back to the source, solve it there.

  6. It takes time to clean, sort, remember to put the bin out...

  7. People are lazy. They just don't care where it ends up.

  8. Some people are lazy and just don't want o do it.
