  1. gotta agree with the first post.  its sad that so many people are misled by the media.  guns are no more dangerous than a car, it all depends on who's behind the wheel.  but i guess hit and runs and drunk driving accidents dont get ratings like columbine.  I think they might run adds on hunting channels though.

and guns do are not a catalyst for violence.  your logic is flawed.  there are many fist fights,  does the sight of your fists make you feel violent?  the only reason guns are used as a scapegoat by the liberal media is because its easier to use it as a scapegoat.  you know a guy ran over quite a few people not to long ago in san fransisco.  do you think they should ban us from using cars?  According to the liberal medias logic that would solve everything and make us all much safer.

  2. Cause the media is liberal and apparently are taboo to them. According to them it would be promoting an evil piece of equipment and cause people to be serial killers.

  3. Most channels don't want to run them. However channels like Outdoor Life typically have quite a few commercials from firearms manufacturers.

  4. Nothing to do with liberal bias

I see gunshow ads all the time I also see ads for gunshops on network cable TV

The gun companies don't waste there time with mass media the same way tankless water heater companies don't bother with it

Whens the last time you saw a commercial for Dr Martin boots, Armani suits, or any snake gaitors

Commercial air time is expensive and only used on target audiences

Certain items do not lend themselves wee to mass advertisement, especially when there are whole magazines devoted only to gun advertisement

  5. Easy answer:

    (Two Words)

    LIBERAL MEDIA

The vast majority of media outlets are under the control of far-left liberal companies that are against civilian gun ownership. There are no FCC regulations prohibiting them from selling ad time to gun makers, they merely make the cost of airtime prohibitive to gun makers.

Is that fair? Why, h**l no, it isn't. But unfortunately there is no regulation forcing them to offer airtime to advertizers at a fixed rate, or forcing them to treat all potential advertizers equally.

Where can you see gunmakers commercials? On the Outdoor Channel! They are decidedly pro-gun folks, and Such companies as Sig-Sauer, Smith and Wesson, DPMS, and Thompson-Center are regular advertizers there.

  6. There are better and more effective places for gun and ammo companies to spend their advertising money. TV is too broad of an audience and the vast majority of people seeing the commercial would have no interest at all. However in a hunting magazine or a mail piece to people with hunting licenses you are reaching the right audience.

It has much more to do with economics and marketing than anything legal or political.

  7. Why advertise to people who would never buy one? It would be a waste of money. And even if they would no network would carry the advertisment as it may hinder their anti-gun agenda. And everyone knows what a gun is. It's like Pepsi and Coke, every ******* person on the planet knows those two brands and yet they still advertise. Why don't they go "Here's a ten dollar coupon try our ****."

  8. Beacuse "Guns are evil" is the prevailing media bias.

Also they don't really need that type of advertising which isn't really that effective.  Everyone has so many channels to choose from and your 4 that you actually watch differ from my 4 that actually I watch and so on, so where's the best place to put your advertising dollars?

  9. cuz the media tries to make guns and people who like them look bad.

  10. Yes! It is against the law, having violent acts in the commercials prohibit the law most especially people bringing guns. It brings bad influence to watchers like us as well. Thanks! ;)

  11. Watch the Outdoor Channel when they have one of their firearms programs on. Then you'll see a few TV firearms ads.

  12. I see gun commercials on the outdoor channel all the time.

In fact tonight is Wednesday Night At The Range on that channel. They'll be gun shows on all night long.

I don't think you'll ever see these on the regular mainstream channels though.

  13. Well if you watch real tv, not that media gun hating democratic world you can see gun and ammunition commercials. The outdoor life Network, and similar networks usually only found on cable or a dish will have them. I personally have seen so many Glock and Benelli commercials that you'd think there the only ones that make weapons. Ammunition makers are big on these networks as well. You just have to support the community to see these.
