i always feel boosted up when i wear a new dress or if i have something new..its not that i feel superior or i think that other persons are inferior to me....i just feel that i am on the top of the world....

why does that happen....??

  1. we feel noticed, we feel more comfortable and that we are great! we feel that people wud look up to us, guys wud wink at us etc etc... it's all ego.... and thats bad, but what say, cant help it somtimes....

  2. It's only true if we like the makeover.

We think that we look good, so others will admire us, and that boosts our self confidence.

  3. It's this weird thing called social status.

  4. its hallucination dat makes u think dat watever nu u wear u ought 2 luk gud in dat....untill sm1 discourages u by saying dat z not suiting u at all r smthin like dat....so just enjoy wat u feel...dere z nthin to mull over..

  5. I think you are just conscious and subconsciously in a better mood and it boosts your self esteem. It's good for you! To be confident is very important. You feel happy that you have something good, new, and exciting and the happiness has a positive effect on you. It happens to me too. I love wearing new clothes to school, I just feel prettier and happier.

  6. It happens to me too!  I notice that when I dress up (in suits or at least in a nice long sleeved shirt with tie and slacks), my productivity skyrockets tremendously.  I think it's b/c we feel more important and value ourselves higher than ever, and can notice the mutual respect from others.

I think also it has to do w/ the fact that when you or me look different and dress up or new haircut, it's not a very common occasion, and it is rather unique and special..as if it's an important event like a birthday or something.  So I think with that in mind, we get those natural endorphins and feel as you described it "top of the world"
