Why it is going to take long time for boiling a potato in hilly areas?

Is that true... If I can add salt the potatoes will be boiled earlier

No it will not boil faster if you add salt.  The topography of your home area will have no effect on the boiling speed of water unless you are cooking outdoors with an open flame.  Hope that helps.

Only if you live at very high altitudes will it take longer for water to boil.

I have heard adding salt to the water if living at very high altitudes can make the water boil faster.

i have no idea..but...you can add salt when the water is boiling and then add the potatoes and just wait until they're fork tender! (:
