I have to agree, it can cut costs but also make the environment you work in physically cleaner.  This will help people stay healthier as well and healthy usually increases chances for happiness or cohesion in the office-it might not create closer relationships but NOT doing it might leave people sicker, crabbier and less social as well as tired and less productive thus not improving anything.  If for nothing else, do it for the planet but the monetary reasons usually motivate especially with the weak dollar and rising costs.

besides the obvious benefit of helping the environment, it really can save money - if you have a lot of recyclable materials you throw in the trash...  they usually charge you by weight for trash pick up.  also, it gives a great sense of morale and accomplishment, and makes employees happier, and more team oriented.
