Why iz nextel phones so dag on big?

The iDen technology that Nextel uses requires a radio transmiter and receiver that cannot be easily minaturized. However there are GSM devices out there such as some Cingular phones that will already support push to talk without the iDen Radio network.

I have no clue. But that's why I have sprint and my husband has nextel. That way we can talk for free, and I don't have to have a big ol' funky phone. I have the new samsung phone, that looks like the razor...and I LOVE IT!
