Why live 5miles from water when you can move closer?

do you wonder why people that live in country's ,you see on TV carrying water four miles on there heads and asking for food ,just don't go fishing or move closer to water ,for gods sake how did the Indians in America do it with out any help before 1500s and the same kind of opportunity to live off the land ,oh they had dry times when no rain came ,but they made it and so can they.

I have wondered that too.  The same holds true when people live in places where nothing grows.  What is holding them there?

maybe the water source is underground and there is only one well, becuase they are too poor to drill more

maybe like, a rival village has the spot on the water, and if they tried moving on their terrritory, they'd go to war and kill them? obviously they're not dumb enough to want to talk 40 miles for a gallon of water, there has to be a reason.
