I live in canada right now, my 2 bedroom flat is only 900$ per month

in london, a decent flat would be 400-500£ per week. in dollars that would $1000 per week. My lord, how do you survive in london! and i heard the minimum wage is only £5.50?!?

  1. The minimum wage is £5.52 for anyone 22 years or above. However, although it is not a legal requirement, there is a basic London living wage of £7.05 which is minimum expected.

Prices vary massively in London, and although they are pretty pricey, you can easily rent a place for a lot less than £400 a month. For your reference, here is a list of 2 bedroom houses and flats in North London with their weekly rent, http://www.gumtree.com/london/north-lond...

But as to surviving, when needs must... you do it!

  2. A decent flat is NO way £400 to £500 a week.

Jeeze mate maybe if you want to live in the west end and want a penthouse or are renting a 4 bed house

Even in certain well off and pricier areas like South London a decent 2 bedroom flat is only about £200 - £300 a week

I pay £740 a month for a huge two bed flat, but am not in the very central parts. And we live just fine especially split between two!

Yes people who are on that wage may find it hard, and will either be getting some government benefits, or will be flat sharing. or will live further out. Most of us are not on that money though. I used to be on £9 per hour and I am a receptionist/Administrator.

It's not as bad as you think!
