Why many Chinese in our country know what is durian fruit but they do not about tempoyak

unless they are half Chinese half Bumiputra. And many of the local dish is still alien to them example pakis/miding, bamboo shoot. bambangan and many more. They typical question would be "Apa ni boleh makan kah macam mana mau masak"

  2. Tempoyak is not a typical Chinese condiment.

    Only those who like spicy Malay food would have tried it. Even then, not many Malay nasi campur stalls have it.

  3. Because the recipe for Tempoyak originally made by the Malays/Bumiputra. Many of the chinese dish is alien to Malays/Bumiputra too.

    btw you make me hungry.. that lemiding masak with sardin..yummy yummy makan with jeruk bambangan..wahhhhhh my fav. kampung dish.. lol

  5. i'm chinese and i barely understand what you're trying to ask.. all i know is that durians taste horrible it's like a spikey ugly fruit with a nasty yellow inside.

    look durian is spiky fruit and and the taste is ok

    the answer of your question is (the save lot of money to get it)


  7. its the same with the malays...they also dont know much abt chinese foods...sambal tempoyak is the best...and not to forget masak gulai tempoyak...especially udang masak tempoyak...add some timun ladang, i dunno what its called in english...its a type of cucumber...a big one and the skin color is brownish...pehh...syiok tau...
