  1. The cost of such benefits continue to rise 5% - 40% every year depending on the group and Insurance company used.  When it comes time to renew, one should work with a Broker looking at several different quotes.

The simple answer, due to rising costs.

  2. Health Insurance benefits costs have gone out of sight so that employee coverage is now a significant cost of operating. As a result, many employers no longer offer the benefit but some do contribute  to the individual's cost. Some employers are going through their business organizations so that bulk purchases by many have lowered costs to employees.

  3. It's expensive.   The average plan costs $350 per month, per employee, and $1200 per month, for a family plan.  Per employee.

  4. Because of the ballooning health insurance costs.

  5. It's because the employer pays for half of it.  If the plan is 1200.00 for the whole family, then the employer is paying 600.00

Many companies can not afford to offer that kind of payment plus give a wage.
