  2. You saw a lot of Pennsylvania Stations due to the influence of one little old line -  The Pennsy, aka "The Standard Railroad of the World".  They were a little cocky back then, as they were the largest in the US.

    And here's a mental hot foot -- at one time the PRR owned the Norfolk and Western -- Now the N&W [ok, NS] owns PRR!  They got it in the Conrail breakup; everything except the old NY Central]
