  1. Math is just like any other subject. I would teach it the same way I would any other. You will have some students that like math and some that don't, but that shouldn't affect how you teach it.

  2. So you're asking why mathematics needs to be taught in an interesting manner?  Math is the core of science.  Without interest in math and science how will we evolve technologically?  How do we expect for our children to carry on in space exploration without science?  How does our children study our world to find a renewable reliable energy source that will stop our addiction on oil?  How would our children increase production in our shrinking farms to produce food for our exponential population growth?  Math not only teaches numbers, it also develops critical thinking skills.

Depending on the age group, you can apply math in a number of ways.  Create a lesson that allows students to play a game or solve a problem that uses math.  Integrate math into science that is more hands on.  Experiments require measuring, data analyzing, graphing, predicting, etc.  For my third grade class, we are graphing the number of medals earned by several countries in the Olympics.  Not only is this current events, students are eager to predict who will come ahead in terms of gold, silver and bronze medals - all while learning mathematics.

  3. I'd suggest trying to find something in the real world to relate to each of the areas that you teach. Show your students that there are actual applications for the concepts that you're teaching them.

The three words that I absolutely hated in all of my math classes were: "Given the function...". Except for math teachers, I've never in my life had anybody give me a function. On many occasions, though, I've needed to determine what function would apply to a specific situation.

  4. rewrite your questin luv , it ain't quite what you meant is it?

  5. In all honesty, when I was in school, I excelled in Math, so the way it was presented didn't really matter, I always understood it and did well on tests and got good grades.

But, for some other subjects, I wish I had you as a teacher, I mean, someone who is interested in making the class environment enjoyable for the students. That's one of the reasons I used to despise English Grammar. I had a problem grasping the material, and really didn't like the teacher.
