Why mechanical student need to learn electrical?

Some day they will have a Mech/Elect dual discipline degree for those who want to make eye-opening designs. Both disciplines have a great need for the other. My boss was a dual degree ME/EE and he was GOOD.

Mechanical & Electrical Engg. are complementary to each other.Mechanical Engr. innovates the structure while Electrical Engr. gives it life. But today to work more effectively in profession one must have clear idea about the basics of both so that he can at least perceive the concept while improving or producing electrical/mechanical part of a machine.Thats why Electro-mechanical engineering is one of the top most favorite subjects for mechanical students.

Likewise mechanical studs , electrical studs also read mechanical topics like pump,turbine,boiler etc to have a basic idea about the mechanical portion of the engg.
