  1. you are speaking of something very personal and very sacred

  2. I have to wonder about your obsession with other people's underwear...

  3. New day, new name, same lame questions.

See tomorrow John C, John D.......

  4. Why do you care?

  5. Mormon Magic underpants protect the wearer against Satan giving them Wedgies

  6. Oh goody, another pervert asking about my underwear.

OK, first off, it's not magic. It doesn't protect us from bullets, fire, or anything like that. There is a level of protection involved, but it is a spiritual protection and I won't go into it any futher than that.

Second, it is worn primarily as a reminder of sacred Temple covenants we have made. So for me, it reminds me daily that I am in a covenant relationship with my Heavenly Father and Saviour. It also has a symbolic meaning which, again, I will not go into. It's sacred and personal.

Third, it ensures modesty. We have to keep it covered by our outer clothing, so no short skirts or strapless dresses. This means that we lovely LDS women don't look like cheap harlots.

Fourth, it is not necessarily underwear, per se. We can, if we choose, wear our regular underwear underneath it. For most brothers there's no point, but for us sisters it means we can wear our regular lingerie, and the garments are an extra layer. (Which I love, because it is extra warmth - it's cold here, even in August -  and it prevents chafing.)

Finally, garments come in all sorts of fabrics, from thermal to silk, and are far cheaper to buy than regular underwear. A friend of mine once commented jealously that I could afford a "satin camisole" when it was actually my garment top.

So for me, all sorts of reasons, from spiritual to comfort.
