  1. American fighters prefer to fight in the US for the same reasons.

Convenience of travel, familiarity of language, food, lodging, closeness of family and friends. Fighters feel more comfortable fighting in front of their fellow countrymen and enjoy their support before and during the bout. You are right, having judges that share your nationality may very well be an advantage.

Also, whenever possible Japanese fighters would rather fight other Japanese fighters. Promoters in Japan build close relationships and would rather keep the cash floating among them. If they must fight a foreign fighter - their feeling is, try to get the fight in Japan.

American fighters are going to want to defend their titles in the US and Japanese fighters are going to want to defend their titles in Japan.

    It makes sense.

  2. i think they feel good in their home land. coming over here would take them out of their element. they wont have that cushion of being at home. of course if they want to make it big time, they have to come over. US is were boxing is at.
