  1. I don't think he gives a royal f**t what people think of him. In the past he has been very outspoken about certain blights on society, and has taken stands on issues he believes are important. He is in a difficult position and many people admire him.

  2. its only the newspapers that dislike him because he says it how it is,he hates all the political correctness rubbish, and i think you will find that the people themselves like him,

  3. Because he's rude and is well known for making racist comments. Basically he's a boring old f**t and the Queen could do so much better than him!

  4. Many don't like him because he is very gruff and can come across as arrogant. He also suffers from "Foot in Mouth" disease, saying very inappropriate things, when he is trying to be "witty." But for the many people who dislike him, there are those that like him very much, saying that he is quite charming and friendly.

Then, there was the Diana-fiasco. Philip and Diana were very friendly and she asked for his help during the troubled times before the divorce. Some fame-seeking morons claimed to have read some of their letters, saying that Philip was cruel to Diana. But,during the inquest,it turns out that people who really did read the letters and talked to Diana about them, reported that the letters were helpful and encouraging and that Diana and Philip were on very good terms.

  5. The Press alway pounce gleefully on anything he says that they don't like.  Years ago he called the Daily Express a 'bloody awful newspaper' (who'd argue with that?) so they've gunned for him ever since.

I don't think he is unpopular at all except with the PC brigade.  He fought bravely for us during the War and has always worked very hard.  At 86 he is still working hard.  Perhaps even more importantly, he has been utterly supportive and protective of the Queen throughout her long reign.  I like him very much even if he can be a bit grumpy at times!

  6. i do the duke of Edinburgh award or is it Edinborough

  7. He's a Fa- er umm

    Its a brit thing.

  8. Prince Philip has gained a reputation for making controversial remarks, some of which have been interpreted as being racist, particularly when meeting the British public or on state visits to other countries. One of the most controversial aspects of the Duke was his relationship with his daughters-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales and Sarah, Duchess of York. He was alleged (though this has never been confirmed) to have been hostile to Diana after her divorce from the Prince of Wales.

  9. Because he is an objectionable piece of work who didn't have two pennies to rub together before he married the Queen. He was kicked out of Greece, unwanted in Denmark and Germany and would travel around in borrowed clothes and transport, inflicting himself as an uninvited and unwanted guest on anyone that would tolerate him. After marrying the Queen,he started mouthing off about how lazy the British worker was,I don't know about now,but then it was totally untrue. He then complained that if he and the other royals were not given a pay rise he might have  to sell one of his polo ponies. As I said he is an objectionable piece of work, rude and tactless.Every time he opens his mouth it is only to remove one foot and replace it with the other. What you may have learned from the newspaper reports is only the tip of the iceberg, there is so,so much more.

  10. Just remember that the highest praise the British can give someone or something is to criticise it/them.  It's how we are - a healthy streak of independence.

There's only one thing worse than being criticised, and that's not being criticised.

  11. I find him quite entertaining, he just speaks as he finds and there's nothing wrong with that in this day of PC.   I don't even think he means to be rude or offensive, it's just the way he says things, maybe the Greek sense of humour is entirely different from that of the UK.   At least he has character
