I would place personal motivation as the foremost reason to excel or even attempt to educate yourself... If that's the reference that you mean.

If your referring to teaching as a teacher, I would say the feeling of accomplishment that follows the completion of a successful tutoring session.

My mother and her sister we're both teachers, so I grew up with a great idea of how and where to place my attention. Too bad I messed it up -__-
