Why must a psychologist be a good communicator?

  1. Their job is to talk to patients.  If they can't communicate with people, then they obviously aren't doing their job properly.


  2. Because they have to really get through to their patient. They have to really understand the problem in order to be able to help. Once they know the problem they have to be able to suggest solutions that are suitable for that patient, that they are comfortable with, and in order to come up with a solution that fits that patient, they must be able to communicate their thoughts and feelings towards the situation.

  3. Without communication how can one work with people?

    I think they have to be able to read people well, have a good bed side manor and compassion. All that takes a good communicator
