  1. it won't happen to me.

    aw c**p, nevermind

  2. You would think that we would learn from the experiences of others--but most people have to make their own mistakes, and sometimes, but not always, learn from those personal blunders.

As far as money, s*x, and fame, many people believe that these are all very exciting, and signs of success.  Money and fame are obvious, often shallow, signs of success in our society, and illicit s*x is often viewed as an exciting successful conquest.

Color prejudice is motivated mostly by a need to feel superior to someone, anyone, and those who are "different" become vulnerable targets for the prejudice person.  Road accidents have multiple causes:  chemical abuse, road rage, impulsivity, drag racing, inattention, and the belief that "It won't happen to me.

Bottom line:  Most folks have to make their own mistakes, sometimes more than once, before they learn.  I must admit, I have made a few mistakes myself, and taken a while to learn from them!

  3. No.

  4. In other words, why are so many folks sweating the small stuff?

Because the truly important things in life take some major cajones to deal with.  And most folks don't have them.
