is eighter that ur dvd cant read the data on the cd

or ur infared light cant read the disc so u need to clean it......

If your DVD is store bought, your DVD player probably needs to be cleaned with a cleaning disk.   If other DVDs play in your DVD player, but if the DVD you are trying to use has been burned from a computer, there is probably a compatibility problem, it is not your DVD player.
