Why my computer freezes?

When I start up my computer and it reaches desktop it freezes for a second. It doesn't freeze for that long then starts working normally. It's not slow or anything, and I've run scans so no viruses or anything either. I thought it could be because I click as soon as it reaches the desktop so didn't click one time but it still froze. I can move my mouse but everything else freezes. I've checked and there's nothing wrong with the computer :S ?

  1. nearly all computers do that. its because when you boot up windows it boots other programs and services at the same time causing you computer to become slow or unresponsive to allow the programs to start.

you can change what programs start when your computer starts with several different programs. i recommend Ccleaner. you should notice an improvement when you use this. you can also go to (XP)  Start->run->type in msconfig->click the start up tab and choose the programs you want.  (Vista) Start->type run->type msconfig->startup and there you go.  but it is normal to experience lagg at start up

  2. it doesnt sound like its freezing its just still loading give it a minute

  3. When your computer freezes, that means it stops responding at all so you have to restart it. Like the other guy said below its does sound like its just taking a while to load. You can make it load faster by disabling unnecassry programs to run at startup. You can do this by going into the programs settings. Also don't click on any programs as soon as you see the desktop, because that will just slow it down even more.
