  1. Did you by any chance install the windows crapware SP3? If you did, restart the computer, press F8 when you see your screen, use safe mode,go to add or remove programs and get rid of it.

  2. Virus?

    ****** up new computer?

    Heh, who knows.

  3. Well reinstall XP, the computer is new and you should hopefully still have the OS Disc

  4. Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This  problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

  5. if you bought it from any main place return it immediately. You may be able to fix it, but the fact that something went wrong from the start isn't a good sign. It may go wrong again, or their may be other underlined problems. If you cant bring it back, try reformatting or doing a system recovery. But you might as well get a brand new computer instead of keeping your damaged new computer that's temporarily working

  6. a blue screen is not a good sign. it's usually a sign that the computer is going bad or has gone bad. You mention it's new? If so, take it back to the place you got it from.

  7. Driver error or overheated.

  8. A blue screen, widely known as "the blue screen of death," can mean a number of things; but, it is never a good sign.  You say, it is new?  Take it back!
