  1. Practice makes perfect. Reading English books and watching English programmes is a good idea.

So is finding an English speaking penfriend and/or English native speaker who is willing to give you conversation practice.

Also try listening to the BBC World Service as it has a lot of programmes designed to help people who are learning English.

    Good Luck.

  2. The word fluent is all about opening your mouth and letting the words come out. Perhaps you're not getting enough practice. Find people to talk to and you will soon build up confidence.

  3. Drop your native language when you're using English and find someone to talk to. Watching programs in English is one of the best things you could do, and also reading books, but those are passive things and that's why now you need to practice actively everything you've been learning!

    Remember: practice makes us perfect!

  4. Dear Friend,

I too had this problem when I was in my college days. I did the following things. I hope these would help you.

For nearly one year I stopped reading anything in my mother tongue. I kept on reading everything in English. Besides this I also had the opportunity of sharing everything that I had read with my friend.

Thinking in English has helped me immensely. Generally, as you know it well, we tend to think in our mother tongue and try to translate that in English. Stop doing that. Instead think in English

  5. What's your native tongue? Here in the US we have many ESL( English Second Language) Classes available to foreigners.

  6. Speak in English whenever you can.. You should make every effort  to find somebody to speak with.

There are some sites which could be useful if you don't have anyone to speak with..

    www. chinswing. com

    www.snapvine.com

You can practice by recording a voice message as a response..

  7. I completely agree with Hani M, I do that too.
