Question:

Why my internet connection droops out when I answer the phone and end of the call?

I have a dial up internet connection and when someone calls and if I answer the phone my internet connection is cutting off then about 2 minutes (still phone is on talking ) I can click to be reconnected but after I am done with talking when I put the recevier down again my internet connection cutting off and same thing about 2minutes I can reconnected by clicking Speedtouch Dial up,which I am useing for connection to my internet. Please anyone got any ideas let me know.

****I have a one cordless phone hooked up in living room but I got 4 other jacks arround the house they are not seperate but parallel lines and we don't use them. Only line is I am useing My Speedtouch Dial up Modem connected to the phone jack in my room besides the phone hooked up in living room.

    you need something like callwave if you have dial up!!

    I've used them 10 years ago...very good service and a free fax line...but you will need a feature called "call forward on busy" from your phone provider!!

  2. When you answer the incoming call, you have interrupted the data stream between your computer and the ISP.  This disconnects you from the internet.  You can't reconnect until you allow the modem to connect to the ISP again, which won't be possible until you end the voice call.
