Why my lead acid batterie of my inverter gets hot while charging

hi

my lead acid batterie of a sinewave inverter which is 1.5 years old gets hot. i dont know it is because of charging or what , will it cause any harm. what should I do to get rid of this problem

  1. while charging the electrons in the battery start jumping producing energy in the form of heat therefore it gets hot.  


  2. Lead Acid batteries whether sealed maintenance or open type  should NOT get hot while charging.

    The mistake lies in the charging circuit. The inverter charging circuit usually has a feedback mechanism to regulate charging. The charger would get cut off once the battery gets fully charged. If not the battery would get hot due to unregulated charging.

    Open the caps and see if the electrolyte is boiling. If it boils call the service technician immediately and ask them to rectify the charging circuit.

    Another way to check is to see whether the battery needs distilled water  top up frequently. Ideally batteries would require a monthly top up


  3. Generally all batteries get warm while charging, you need not worry.
